WATCH! 2017 Honda Civic Type R Exhaust Sound

As we reported a few weeks ago, the new 2017 Honda Civic Type R is here and ready to go. This will be the first time a Type R Civic is offered in the United States and Honda is making sure to keep interest high with the release of a new video. Hearing the sound that comes from the triple exhaust gives extra hope that the 2017 Civic Type R will be the real deal.

The Civic Type R is powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged 4 cylinder. It makes 306 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Keeping true to performance Hondas of yesteryear the Type R will offer a 6 speed manual transmission that has automatic rev-matching for a nice blip during downshifts.

Other equipment includes +R Driving mode which is one of three drive modes (also comfort and sport) that re-tunes the suspension, throttle and steering in order to give drivers maximum performance. There is a customizable digital meter display that will show information such as g-force, track times, and boost pressure. A 12 speaker 540 watt sound system comes standard. All of this will be planted to the ground via 20 inch black alloy wheels.
