While the average Joe sport bike lover or run of the mill MotoGP fanatic may be aware of Honda and Ducati’s grip at the top of MotoGP podiums for the 2018 season, it’s likely most aren’t aware of the unquestionable dominance of Indian Motorcycles in American Flat Track. So far in 2018, Indian has won every race with their FTR750.
In celebration of their success Indian is building the FTR1200 you see here. This bike is based on the FTR1200 custom that made its debut at EICMA in 2017. With the immense popularity of motorcycles like the Ducati Scrambler, Triumph Bonneville, and BMW’s R nineT, the FTR1200 should have plenty of steep competition.
There isn’t much information about the FTR1200 currently besides it will be released in 2019. The FTR1200 Custom boasted a liquid-cooled 1133cc V-Twin making over 100 horsepower, Ohlins suspension, and Brembo brakes. Hopefully that gives us some insight into what we can expect from the production model.
