Manthey-Racing is a company based at the famed Nürburgring and is managed by brothers Nicolas and Martin Raeder. The company provides its customers with part packages and racing events. The racing team has done quite well with six overall victories in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring race. Porsche AG owns a 51 percent share in the company and that seems to be a win-win for both.

On Thursday, October 25, 2018, the Porsche GT2 RS MR completed a lap of the nearly 13 mile long Nordschleife circuit in a record time of 6:40.3. No other road-legal vehicle has bee around the track faster.  The car was setup with the help of Manthey-Racing and driven by Lars Kern who, as a Porsche test driver, is no stranger to Porsche vehicles.

In 2017 the Prosche GT2 RS hit the market being promoted as the fastest and most powerful Porsche 911 ever made. With 700 hp coming from its 3.8 liter boxer 6, the GT2 RS can hit 60 mph in 2.7 seconds, devour the 1/4 mile in 10.5 seconds, and eventually hit a top speed of over 210 mph.  So it’s no surprise that a bit of tuning, which is available to European customers who want to drop their GT2 RS off at the Nürburgring, allows the MR version of the GT2 RS to achieve this time.
