2023 Ducati Monster SP Increasing the Fun

The 2023 Ducati Monster SP looks to increase the fun with high-quality components and even less weight.

Ducati, the famous Italian motorcycle manufacturer, has released a new addition to their renowned Monster series, the 2023 Ducati Monster SP. This naked bike has been highly regarded since its debut in 1992, and many consider it to have been the catalyst for the naked bike revolution. According to Ducati, the Monster SP is designed to enhance the fun and style of riding, and its technical features are perfect for those who enjoy sporty riding. Additionally, it features an eye-catching Moto GP-inspired livery, making it even more appealing.

Let’s delve into the details. The Monster SP has the same 937cc 90-degree V-Twin engine found in the standard Monster and Monster plus. Output is rated at 111 horsepower at 9,250 rpm and 69 lb-ft of torque at 6,500 rpm. The 6-speed transmission with a quick-shifter and slipper clutch is also a carryover.

The Monster SP comes equipped with premium features, such as traction control, wheelie control, Ducati’s Power Launch system, and cornering ABS. All these features are designed to keep the bike stable and under control in various riding conditions. The front brakes have been upgraded to Brembo Stylema monoblock 4-piston calipers gripping two 320mm semi-floating discs. The rear brakes have a 245mm disc and a Brembo 2-piston floating caliper. The SP’s wheels are fitted with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IVs versus the Rosso III tires found on the Monster and Monster Plus.

Perhaps the most notable update to the 2023 Ducati Monster SP comes from an Öhlins NIX30 fork and Ohlins rear shock. Additional features include a Termignoni silencer, a steering damper, and a lithium-ion battery. Furthermore, the SP is 4 pounds lighter with a curb weight of 410 pounds. It also offers a slightly higher seat option with the high seat accessory, which increases the seat height to 33.5 inches. The Monster and Monster Plus have a 32.3-inch seat height.

The Ducati Monster SP has a starting price of $15,595 and is an excellent addition to the Monster family. It offers riders an exhilarating experience both on and off the road. Its sporty design and technical features make it an outstanding choice for riders who want to push the limits of performance and style.
