Romano Fenati was recently dismissed from his Moto2 team as well as the team he was expected to go to next year. Fenati announced his retirement from motorcycling because of his dangerous brake grab against rider Stegano Manzi.
A bit of back and forward between the two at the Misano Grand Prix in San Marino led to Fenati grabbing Manzi’s front brake while going around 140mph.
After the incident Fenati received a ban for the next two races and then was dropped by his team, Marinelli Snipers Team. He was supposed to join Forward Racing next season but they have also pulled back their offer.
Fenati did apologize for the incident and has announced he is not looking for any more opportunities in racing. He also added that Manzi was partly to blame. He said Manzi ran into him three times and that’s what led him to pull Manzi’s brake.
