BMW Unveils 340-HP 2019 Z4 M40i

BMW has finally unveiled the newest generation of its much anticipated Z4 roadster. The unveiling happened at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the same location that BMW premiered the Z4 concept last year.

With long sharp lines and aggressive angles, the Z4 has a notably sporty yet luxurious look. Design elements include vertically stacked adaptive LED headlights, mesh designed kidney grille, an elongated clamshell hood, large air breathes behind each front wheel, and an integrated deck lid spoiler. The sporty look is backed by a low center of gravity and a perfect 50:50 weight distribution.

The BMW Z4 M40i First Edition seen here comes in Frozen Orange Metallic with an electric soft top in anthracite with silver effect and two-tone double spoke 19-inch alloy wheels. The interior features Vernasca black leather trim, power seats with memory, and Harman Kardon stereo system. For the first time in a BMW roadster there is a Head-Up Display and the BMW Live Cockpit Professional with two high resolution digital displays.

Power for the new Z4 M40i First Edition comes from BMW’s 3.0 liter inline 6-cylinder engine producing 340-HP and allows the Z4 to run from 0-60mph in under 4.4 seconds. The M tuned sports suspension has electronically controlled dampers, an M Sport braking system and an electronically controlled M Sport rear differential.

Expect more details about the Z4 model lineup to be released in September. Models will start arriving at U.S. dealerships in Spring 2019.
